Ocean Nov 2001 Lucky Dube is this marvellous South African reggae artist - as far as I am concerned, the next best thing to Bob Marley, great lyrics, and as is the essence of any genre of music, stonking melodies - and unlike the three chicken pluckers (the I three’s) from Marley’s band the ladies can really sing and dance. I was lucky to interview him for MTV, he’s a Renaissance Rastafarian with that uniquely South African attitude of reconciliation between cultures and race. |
