Been a long time since I was at a concert where the anticipatory energy level was up where it was at Wembley Arena.
It was a high stage (which was good because we were all in a tight spot) so we could take long shots, with a narrow ramp down into the audience around which we gathered. Big
clean high tech set. Dave Gahan – what a performer, lights were sufficiently bright that the shutter speed was almost fast enough to freeze the spins he was doing with
the mike stand. Took my time leaving the show, stopped to look for a couple of minutes – had my knuckles rapped by my agency because the PR firm whined to them that I
tried to take pictures after I left the pit. How primary school, whinging to the teacher rather than politely checking.
